Open call: artists for Fopsa 2026

Language is not only a vehicle for meaning, but it is also itself a medium, a technology, a living terrain of possibility. At FOPSA, we don’t treat language as a fixed, normative tool, but as something unstable and generative. We believe that language can be stretched, ruptured and re-imagined through the body, sound, image, breath, and absence.

What we seek in this edition

For this edition of FOPSA, we invite artists whose practices engage with language as a fluid and expanding technology: ancient or ancestral modes, experimental or invented forms, embodied, visual, gestural languages, or even speculative, futuristic languages yet to be born.

We welcome works in performance, sound, sonic art, moving image, visual/text-based practices, conversation, dialogue and participatory works.

This edition will seek to create a space where language becomes material, embodied, transformative and boundary-crossing.

Duration of festival: 30th and 31st of May. Location: Eindhoven, Netherlands

Artists (individuals or collectives) who have a project in mind, an idea, a concept, or a practice ready to be realized or further developed within the framework of FOPSA. Projects that challenge, re-work, break, and invent language.

Selected participants will receive between 250 - 500 € honorarium in recognition of their contribution.
